About MakerFold
MakerFold is a free website that turns measurements into packaging templates: a soap band, a jewelry display card and a gift box with a separate lid. Each template downloads as an exact-size PDF for home printing or a cut-and-score SVG for cutting machines.
Who it is for
Soapmakers, jewelry sellers, craft-market sellers and anyone making small gift packaging at home. The tools cover light paper and cardstock construction; they are not a shipping-box or industrial packaging engineering tool.
How it works
- You type measurements in millimetres or decimal inches. The tool validates them, draws the geometry and lays copies onto A4 or US Letter sheets.
- Geometry is computed in your browser from the numbers you enter. Measurements and optional text are not sent to a server to generate files.
- PDF and SVG files preserve the generated dimensions. Every PDF sheet carries a 50 mm calibration ruler so you can check your print scale.
- No account, no payment, no upload.
Verification status
Software validated; physical assembly pending
What has been checked in software: the geometry formulas against fixed reference values, the PDF page sizes and vector coordinates by independent parsing (a 25.4 mm segment becomes exactly 72 PDF points), the SVG structure and physical dimensions, sheet packing counts, and browser flows in Chromium and WebKit.
What has not yet been done: printing and assembling the templates on real paper and measuring the results. Until that is recorded, treat every template as a prototype and make one sample before a batch. We do not claim guaranteed fit, tested cutting-machine compatibility, or user counts.
What we do not claim
- No guaranteed physical fit: paper thickness, scoring and glue affect assembly.
- No certified compatibility with any printer, cutting machine or retail display.
- No material-savings or "optimal nesting" claims: sheets use simple bounding-box grids and report copies per sheet.
- No testimonials, ratings or user numbers.
Original work
The geometry, diagrams, text and code are original to this project. Templates generated here may be used for personal projects and for physical products you sell; see the terms. The bundled font is Inter, under the SIL Open Font License.
Business model
The tools and guides are free. The site may later show clearly labelled advertising or direct sponsorship; see the privacy page for what is active now.
